1. Why did AES Corporation choose the Murcia Region to generate and market electric power?

AES is a multinational present in a number of countries worldwide. One of our missions is to use our business to help people in those countries. We chose the Murcia for its location and the opportunity to help the region and the whole country for that matter.

2. What are the advantages the Murcia Region offers to your business?

We are a power plant that generates 1200 megawatts. There are various factors why we set up our plant here in Murcia. One of those factors was its strategic location. Cartagena, the city from where we operate, is next to the sea. We have access to port facilities, which is a great advantage in terms of infrastructures and logistics. Another factor is the excellent level of HR in Murcia. These factors together with others,h elped us decide the construction of our plant here.

3. Has AES Corporation met its expectations here in the Murcia Region?

I think so. Financially speaking, we have reached our targets. Since the plant was commissioned two years ago, we have managed to generate a significant amount of energy. So yes, I think that our objectives and expectations have been satisfied.
 
4. What do you think about the qualification of HR in the Murcia Region?

Cartagena, the city where we are located, is an industrial area with a lot of installations and business available. In addition, there is a refinery in the region. All these factors contribute to the presence of well-qualified Human Resources. There are good electricians, good technicians, good engineers…and that is really important for us.

5. What future plans does your company have here in Murcia?

Our permit runs up to the year 2027, which means we have another 20 years of operation more or less. We will be here till then and at that point, I think new opportunities will arise for us to do business in this region. and look at new opportunities to help the people of Murcia.

6. Is the Murcia Region a nice place to live?

Absolutely, as Spanish people say, Murcia is the land where the sun lives. This is a wonderful place; people are friendly. As I mentioned before, we are really happy with the qualification of HR available in this region. So in short, yes, this is a very nice place in which to live.

AES is a multinational present in a number of countries worldwide. One of our objectives is to contribute to the growth and development of the societies in the countries where we are. We had the opportunity to set up here in Southern Spain and I think we chose the best region from which to carry out our mission.

2. What are the advantages the Murcia Region offers to your business?

The location of the Murcia Region is excellent. Our plant is in Cartagena, in the south of Murcia, Southern Spain. We are near the sea, a very important factor for a power plant like ours that generates 1200 megawatts of electricity. Once again, it is vital to be near the coast. Another important factor is that there are excellent infrastructures near our premises, which makes energy generation easier.
